PLANNING: Inspirations

Inspirations were taken from a number of media products including scenes from music videos and seasons 

The idea was to create something trippy, keeping our narrative and concept-based music video in mind while depicting a sense of escape. 

One of the major inspirations for the visuals was from "Be Happy Without Me" by "Grace Grundy" 

This gave us the idea that when the girl is escaping into the real world, she should have a personal belonging with her. Also, it was very visually pleasing to see her riding a bicycle. I instantly wanted to have a similar touch in my music video. 

2. "Will He" by "Joji"

This was another major inspiration for our music video. The idea of a person trying to escape from themselves and also hurt by the world presented in such a trippy yet aesthetically pleasing manner with such beautiful scenes incorporated in one music video became the goal. 

3. Euphoria

The trippy scenes representing a number of increasing social issues and mental illnesses in teenagers these days gave us the idea of Representing a similar social issue that is very close to our hearts in the music video. This also made us a 100% sure that our main characters would be teenagers.
